1

Overview

Wethr ("we," "our," or "us") operates a church management platform designed for mid-size congregations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when your church uses our services at wethr.co and any associated subdomains.

Wethr operates as a data processor on behalf of your church. Your church — as the administrator of the Wethr account — is the data controller responsible for its congregation members' information. We process that data solely according to your instructions and this policy.

A note on church data

Churches store sensitive pastoral information. We treat everything in Wethr — names, contact details, member status, and volunteer history — with discretion appropriate to that trust. We never monetize this data or use it outside of providing the Wethr service.

2

What We Collect

We collect information in two categories: data your church provides to Wethr, and data generated automatically through use of the platform.

Category Examples Source
Directory data Names, email addresses, phone numbers, household relationships, birthdates, photos, member status, tags Church admin / CSV import
Scheduling data Availability preferences, blackout dates, frequency caps, role assignments, RSVP responses Volunteers & leaders
Service data Order of service blocks, notes, file attachments, service history Staff & leaders
Communications In-app messages, notification preferences, SMS opt-in status All users
Account data Login credentials, church subdomain, billing contacts, role assignments Church admin
Usage & logs IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, feature interactions, error logs Automatically collected
Visitor form submissions Names, contact info, interest areas submitted through public visitor forms Public form submitters
We don't collect payment information directly

Billing for Wethr subscriptions is handled by our payment processor. We store only a reference token — never full card numbers or banking details.

3

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected exclusively to deliver, maintain, and improve the Wethr platform. We do not use congregation member data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose outside of operating the service.

Service delivery Powering the directory, scheduling, order of service, communications, and all platform features.
Notifications Sending schedule assignments, reminders, RSVP prompts, and messages on behalf of your church leaders.

Security Detecting unauthorized access, preventing fraud, and maintaining platform integrity.
Product improvement Analyzing aggregated usage patterns (never individual member data) to improve features.
4

6

Security

We take the security of your church's data seriously and implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including:

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. Sensitive data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized Wethr engineers with multi-factor authentication required. We perform regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments.

Wethr is designed with role-based access controls baked in — volunteers see only what they need, leaders see their team, and admins control the rest. We do not allow any Wethr employee to access congregation data except to troubleshoot issues when explicitly requested by your church admin.

Security incident notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your church's data, we will notify your account administrator within 72 hours of becoming aware of the incident, in compliance with applicable data protection law.

7
